<dc:description xml:lang="eng">Our everyday experiences are to a great extent depend ent on movement. Especially in the city, the execution of our daily tasks and following of our schedules rely on constant and often dynamic movement. From a broader perspective, all individuals together form repetitive pat terns of urban activity through their personal rhythms and routines. As a result, these collective rhythms establish a shared pace of city dwelling, which mutually influences the activities of each individual.
This master’s thesis explores the tension between stillness and motion through a photographic analysis of everyday dynamics in public urban spaces. By combining theoretical research with photographic experimentation, the project investigates how still photography can create a sense of movement, duration, and narrative. As it interprets the repetitive nature of daily existence in the city, it seeks to reveal how rhythm and repetition work as structural principles of both urban experience and human life. Furthermore, the concepts of rhythm and repetition are used as narrative elements in the final work.</dc:description>
